Get your pickup time
Dispatch gives you a time with a 30-minute window, a reminder the day before, and a second notification when your driver is en route.
Cancel if plans change
Call at least 24 hours ahead if you can’t make your trip, so another rider can take the spot.
Rider guide & policies
Trip reservations
All trips are scheduled in advance on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to time and space. You may be asked for your name, address, phone, pick-up and drop-off addresses, desired arrival time and any accommodations. Next-day and same-day trips are accommodated when available.
Will calls
Will-call return trips are offered based on availability only. Because MCPT is demand-response and first-come, first-served, schedule all trips ahead to guarantee availability.
Pick-up window
MCPT has a 30-minute pick-up window, the vehicle may arrive from 15 minutes before to 15 minutes after your scheduled time. If there’s no response within 5 minutes of arrival, you’ll be marked a No Show.
Cancellations & no-shows
To cancel, call dispatch at least 24 hours before your trip. If you’re recorded as a No Show for 20% or more of your rides in a rolling calendar year, service may be suspended. Appeal by asking to speak with the Transportation Administrator.
Accessibility
Riders may use wheelchairs and manual mobility aids (walkers, crutches, canes, braces). MCPT transports riders with portable oxygen tanks and respirators; for safety, portable oxygen tanks must be securable.
Reasonable modifications
Need a service accommodation? Tell us when you reserve. For more on the reasonable-modification policy or to file a complaint, call (740) 444-5555. We’ll make every effort to honor reasonable requests.
Transportation of children
Children over 8 must wear a seat belt. Under 4 years or 40 lbs. must be in a car seat; ages 4–8 and under 4′9″ must use a booster. Car and booster seats are the parent/guardian’s responsibility, as is securing children who are accompanied by an adult.
Safety
Seat belts are required for all passengers and must remain fastened while the vehicle is moving. A medical exemption requires documentation from a medical professional. MCPT requires all wheelchairs to be secured in the designated securement area using the vehicle’s four-point system. Passengers who refuse wheelchair securement may be denied service. If the securement system cannot accommodate a wheelchair, the driver will attempt to secure it safely, and service will not be denied solely because it cannot be secured. Please remain seated until the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
Rider courtesy
As a shared-ride service, please be respectful. The use of tobacco products including vape, smoking and chewing tobacco is prohibited. Do not play loud music, have loud conversations, curse or disturb others in the vehicle. As MCPT is a shared ride service, limit bags and personal belongings to what you can safely carry and keep within your seating area.
Assistance
Service runs from curb to curb, and door to door upon request. Drivers may help you to and from the curb but cannot enter a residence or building. An escort or personal-care attendant may accompany you. Please notify dispatch of the personal care assistant to ensure seating on the vehicle. Drivers secure wheelchairs and help with seat belts as needed. Loading and unloading bags or packages is primarily the responsibility of the passenger or their attendant. Please limit carry-on bags, keep aisles and exits clear, and bring only what you can carry; MCPT may contain bags in secure totes for safety.
Service animals
MCPT welcomes trained service animals in all vehicles and facilities. An animal may be excluded if it is uncontrolled, not housebroken, or poses a direct threat to others. Handlers are responsible for cleanup.
Holidays & weather closings
MCPT is closed on the following holidays:
When the holiday fall on a Saturday, MCPT will observe the holiday and close on the preceding Friday. When holiday falls on a Sunday, MCPT will observe it and close on the following Monday. Additional closure days may be added on a case-by-case basis and will be announced on MCPT’s social media platforms.
Weather-related delays or closures will follow road advisories issued by the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office and will also be posted on MCPT’s social media platforms.
